This evolving body of portrait work explores the complexity of human presence through sustained observation and quiet connection. Rather than capturing a single defining moment, each portrait emerges from time spent with the subject — allowing subtle shifts in expression, posture, and light to shape the final image.
My approach is rooted in attentiveness to nuance: the space between gestures, the fleeting change of a gaze, the way a body settles into stillness. These small, often unnoticed moments reveal layers of personality and lived experience that cannot be distilled into a single instant.
Light and environment become integral to each portrait, framing the subject while reflecting emotional tone and atmosphere. Whether photographing artists, friends, collaborators, or individuals encountered along the way, I seek to create images that feel intimate without intrusion — grounded in respect and shared presence.
While distinct from my collage constructions, this series remains connected to my broader exploration of time and perception. Each portrait is not simply a likeness, but a quiet narrative — a record of attention, relationship, and the unfolding of human expression.
As the series continues to grow, it aims to build a collection of portraits that collectively speak to the diversity, vulnerability, and depth of the human experience.
